hi,
as some of you may know i have a piston slap in my engine or some crap like that... all i really know is there is a knock in there. i am thinking of rebuilding the engine, but im not totally sure on what is needed. obviously i will need to replace the pistons, rings, and connecting rods. however, what do i do with the head and the rest of the engine? (as cheap as possible with quality work) what exactly is porting and polishing the head and do you have any estimates on a whole rebuild labor cost off the top of your head? its a lot of info i know, but thank you very much!

You'll want the cylinders bored .020'' over, and with that, oversized pistons by .020''. They will also hone the cylinders so the rings seal. The head is fine, but you could have it ported for better flow, and cleaned and polished for both flow and getting rid of buildup. I don't know how much it would cost, you'll have to call a machine shop.
