I was wondering when i should use the tow haul button on my truck when towing. Should I just tow in 3 leave it in overdrive. About the only thing i tow is a 18 1/2 bass boat with a 150 motor. I am guessing it ways 3000 to 4000 pounds with all the gear in it. To me when i put it in tow haul it seems to shift funny. Might not be used to it

tow haul changes the shift pattern of the trans thats why it feels funny. up shifts at higher rpm and down shifts with lessgas pedal movement. helps keeps the tranny from shifting up and down when hauling heavy loads. use in drive , only meant to be used if load is more than 75% of vehicles gcwr.

Tow haul will also keep your torque converter locked at lower speeds which reduces tranny heat build up. I use tow haul on my Allison in hot weather, stop and go city driving to help keep the tranny temps down. :)

So what about Mudding, could i use it to lock the torqe converter while in deep mudd? like just driving through in 2whl, maybe even 4whl, how does the tow haul effect that? I think I am gonna try it I have wondered what it would do.

Anyone have a guess?
