Rear End Pricing?

I am looking into buying a Chevy S-10 pikcup (any average model) for my first car(/truck) and my dad says around mid 90's the rear ends go out a bit anyone know how true this is....How much does it cost to replace them on an average price range?

well personally i have a 93 that i got from my grandpa after he died 4 years ago and i havent had any problems yet. you just have to find one that someone didnt beat to hell. Sorry i dont kno any prices though. you might want to look on ebay (not to buy) or a search engine like google. U'll find some prices there. i dont know how much labor would be though. you would have to call a shop.

my truck is mint though too cause he kept real good care of it. but i havent heard too many horror stories about em. :)

of course theres the tragic horror stories of being notorious for front end work, at least that is what ive heard, they do go through front end stuff pretty hardcore though. especially pitman and idler arms, but other than if you take care of them they will prove to be a strong ride worthy of investing in
