I have a 2000 grand caravan. The airbag light is staying on, the horn doesn't work and nither does the cruise. About 130 000 km's on the van. Started a couple of days ago. Any ideas???

first the obvious. have you checked for a blown fuse? the last time my airbag light was on it was due to a fuse that also tied into the rear wiper

This is a factory recall. Take it to any dealer and they'll fix it for free.
It's called the "clockspring recall" do a search on google and you'll see.
It fixes the horn, cruise and abs woes. IT will fix your van.
I can't believe nobody else told you this.

Thanks slantsixness. I believe your right and that is the problem. However, I phoned my dealer and they say there are no active recalls on my van.

Bulldog,
it's not a "recall" they are fixed for free on an as needed basis, not every van has the trouble, I've noticed that people who use the horn (bang on the steering wheel) and enter/exit the van using the steering wheel as a handrail/prop/support, are more prone to this problem.
They know they'll do it. try another dealer, or push your's a little harder.
I had one (a '96) fixed, for free in 2003. They said "it doesn't matter what year the van is, until the new models '02-up came out, they all can fail."
I was just glad they fixed it for free, saved me wrench time!

I had the same thing happen to me and as with Bulldog the dealer fixed it. Chrysler has to and will fix this but sometimes it takes a threat or two like I am going to call my "Lawyer". With them screeming does help. Do not wait on getting this fixed as if you have a defective clock spring it can cause the air bag to deploy for no reason. And beleive me you will not enjoy this if you live to talk about it. And that is why Chrysler will fix it.
