3G GT - MORE Horsepower

Ok, so if you are reading this you probably have a GT (I guess). I am hoping we can all pull our resources together and see what all is out there to add more Horses to our GT's.
I've read about the Ripps SuperCharger for about $3.5K+ labor and that seems to add the most HorsePower compared to all the other products I have found.
- NOS kits could raise it about 50-75HP for $500-700 (using stock internals)
- Exhausts add under 20HP.
- Cold Air Intake could add about 10HP for $150-250
- Headers could add around 7HP?
- I haven't found a turbo for the GT yet. (Anyone know Y?!)
What kind of increase would some lightweight/racing wheels add? (Any suggestions?)
I've heard something about having the fuel throttle bored out a little...not sure of the cost or gain.
Any recommendations for better gas milage are encouraged too! I can't believe Mitsu dropped a bigger engine in this model and not many companies are putting much development into its aftermarket parts. Why? It makes me wonder if buying this car was a bad choice. Its a great daily driver, dont get me wrong, but it seems that when I need the power to get by that slow a-hole slowing down morning traffic that my 2001 Spyder GT just doesn't have enuff umph. I'm actually worried about "testing" other model vehicles like a 99 RS or a camaro...

Alright Johnny knows quite a bit about the Eclipse. Here's his response from another thread.
"There is no turbo kit for the V6 right now. The one maker went under, so the only two options you have are to build your own turbo kit or to get in contact with RippMods and get their SDS supercharger kit. It puts down respectable power, alot more than stock."
-johnnybgood
Well hopefully that helped.

The 3G was designed for the Mid-30's age group, and they hit it on the mark. However, in designing the car for the older crowd, the 3G was passed over almost all together by the aftermarket.
You do have some options, as Racing Performance Works (RPW) out of Austrailia has some NA things you could use, if you wanted to stay NA.
RippMods SDS is the only way that your car will be a 300+whp daily driver. By adding the little things you mentioned, such as Throttle Body (by RPW), Headers (high quality ones by Ripp or Hy-Tech will add 30+whp with tuning, Hy-Tech is the best).
A lightweight Fidanza flywheel and ACT or Clutchmasters clutch are pretty much a necessity for more power.
The biggest disappointment is the suspension. Get the Tein SSP's w/ EDFC(best true coilovers for the 3G right now), RRE strut tower bar, and Suspension Techniques rear sway bar, and your car will handle with the best of them.
With all the suspension mods, you are looking at $1900 (Top Quality items though, well worth the money IMO), and $4,500 for the SDS and necessary tranny mods, and you have yourself an excellent daily driver and all out track car on the weekend.

Two companies are developing turbo kits now. One is AAI (www.acceleratedautosprts.com). They have a single turbo setup that should be finished any week now. Second is API (no website). They have both a twin a single turbo setup in thw works as well, but it may be some time before they actually get it going.
I have said and will always say that a DIY turbo kit is the way to go. Its easy to do so long as you have some knowledge of how cars and turbos work. If you dont, pick up "Maximum Boost" by Corky Bell. Its the best book in the world.
RIPPs kit is very reliable, and is backed by a good company. If you want a kit to bolt on and just have some fun with with minimal work and worries, thats the way to go.

Hey, I like all the info u mentioned but can u give me the sites to all the places u mentioned here,I wanna look into that cuz the whole thing about Australia sounds right. A month ago I was trying to get headers and they said that in Australia they had headers for the V-6 that where very good. so can u please give me links to all those places, Thanks
