Hello,
I am a little perplexed.
I have a 1999 TA that all of a sudden doesn't start.
The battery is good and has been tested the lights and electronics all seem to be working normal.
When the key is inserted and turned to start the engine, the only thing that happens is a single slight click noise happens. It's not a noise from the starter or even the solenoid, just from the dash area.
It is exactly like what the manual says when a wrong or bad key is used.
I have tried my original key and the spare key.
All fuses have been checked and are good. Is there anything else that I can try?
A little history of today's events, I drove the car in the morning and at noon, no signs of anything going wrong then a few hours later I got in and tried to start it and it didn't start.
Need help!
Thank you for your time!!!

You might have lights but it could be some heavy gauge wiring from the battery terminal that is somewhat loose but not loose enough (that's why you got lights).

Trace those heavy gauge wires from the battery terminal and make sure they are tight. Check the ground wires are well. I have that happen on my car with a little bit loose wire not enough to crank but enough for the lights to come on.

You might want to try to start engine in Neurtal.

Also, you might want to by-pass the starter solenoid and directly connect the starter to the battery and see if the starter would even turn the engine.

mine had a buzzing/clicking sound coming from the font of the car. The battery was bad even though the battery tested good.

After pushing the car down a small hill and trying to jump start via popping the clutch with no success, I broke down and had it towed to a dealership.
The car would fire once and immediately die again.
The problem turned out to be the ignition cylinder in the steering column. It had failed and tricked the security system into thinking it was being tampered with.
Thanks for all of your helpful hints! Hopefully this will help someone else before they have a dealer charge $400+.
Thanks again.
