Ok I am new to this site and I need a lot of help. My gf has a 93 Honda Civic. Well here recently it wouldnt start at all. It would just keep turning over and after about 30mins of trying to start it it would start. I went to an autoshop and bought what they told me a ICM and a coil. I installed the parts and now it cranks up fine but when you rev it the tach starts jumping all over the place and it wont hardly get over 40mph before it just goes to 0rpms. Please Help me out here. I dont want to take it to the honda place they rip us off I hope someone has heard of this problem. Thanks in advance

got anymore info you can provide? Any check engine lights, what else is going on? You get to 40 and the car dies or?

Well when I would get to 40mph the tach would goto 0 and then it would die. Yesterday morning I got back up and I had only replaced to parts on the car. The Ignition Controll module and the coil. I proceeded to take the new ICM and replace it with the old one and left the new coil in it. It seems to be working very well now. It cranks right up and the tach doesnt jump around. So I think either the parts store gave me the wrong ICM or a bad one cause when I put the old one back in it worked perfectly.

Yeah she has been driving it all day and no revving problems or anything. I took the old one back and they gave me my money back without a problem. I dont know I guess her whole starting problem was the coil.
