Hey I was wondering what is the maximum power you can get on an Evo and how much money it would cost? Anyone know?

There is an EVO pushing just over 700hp here in NZ without nos. Cost, wouldn't have a clue but it is a proper drag car with the turbo located in the interior with the wastegate venting out the passenger door along with the exhaust.

A good estimate would be well over the $35K USD including tuning time just for the engine and custom manifolds.

the 4g63 is one strong as motor. its been know to take up to 22psi on a stock bottem end and hold over 500hp with stock internals, its the external things that restrict the power of the motor i.e. fuel managment, turbo size, exhaust diamiter, air intake restrictions, that is why its is only reated at 276(?)hp.. but if you do the boltons and upgrade the turbo you can easily see 400whp sport compact car this month has tunned evo's in them most of them are in the upper 350hp to 430+ thats great ponital in these motors and this new gen 4g63 is even stronger and has virtuall no problems as compared to the 4g63 in the DSM..
conclusion the evo8 motor is very potient..

You should probably post this in the Lancer forum, they'd probably know better but if you pick up a copy of Sport Compact Car mag for May they had a collection of 8 evos.
