Trip Odometer Reset Button

I am in process of installing an aluminum bezel over the speedo cluster. Does anyone know how to remove the trip odometer reset button (the gizmo that sticks out of you speedo thru the lens).. I have tried screwing and pulling but no go..Any help?

Just Pull It is hard to do but it will come out

i prised mine off with a flat ended screwdriver on both sides but they are tight on there.

You mean just rip it out??@@?!!? It does not screw off? What part comes out and from where? I cant believe you just pull it, wont it get broken off?? SOS

I have a 92 model and did the same thing. just pulled real hard and it finally came out. at the end of it is lilke a fork. that you squeeze together but you cant do to the front lens. To reinstall just push it right back in.

thats right, i wrapped some masking tape round mine and prised it off, using the tape helps not mark the button. good luck!!!!!
