I replaced the alternator and im having trouble putting the serpintine belt back on. I borrowed one of those serpintine belt tools but the tensioner is still in a too tight of a place and the bolt doesnt stick out very much. BTW its a 97 grand am v6
Any help appreciated.

Anthony

I would use two wrenches.
It has open-end and close-end type wrenches. You connect those two open-end wrench so you have a leverage when trying to loosen the serpentine belt tensioner so you can put the serpentine belt around.
You might need someone to turn the serpentine tool or those two wrenches while you try to put the serpentine belt around the serpentine belt tensioner.
