I know this is totally uninteresting for most of you but i just wanted to show you what me and my 11 year old son get up to. He's not into car modelling but he does build warhammer which is big in Europe, not sure about the states Etc. We built the ruin which the ugly soldiers are standing on along with the house and the tower in the background. All of this was done with cornflakes cartons and other throwaway stuff so it was very cheap. We then airbrushed some paint onto them.
I know its off the subject this but couldnt help posting...........
Later, Mike. :smokin:

Awsome, I had some friends that were into this stuff, It never really caught on for me, I didnt understand how to play, but If Im correct, you also have to paint the figures? very nice work, I had a friend do one of these diorama's for an art project,...very cool, best mark in the class.

I see these occasionally in Canada too. People paint their terrain sooo realistic!
I had always thought these will soon be useful for car modeling as in something like display case background or to take pics of your newly finished car in action...etc.

Yes, thats right just forgot to mention it. They are actuell model regiments that you build and paint. You build up your terrain (expensive in the shops) and then use dice to move your army around the "very big" board.

hell ya that shits expensive i spent more on that stuff than i have on model cars, which i quite a nice chunk of change considereing i have finished any yet...
btw im asuming your son paints the models? if so tell him that he has some skill, the painting part of warhammer was always my favorite (its the only reason i did it in the first place), but with no one to play with here in the states i have lost most of my interest in it
as for the terrain i always bought the static flock cuz it looks so real, but before that fine sand glued to a base a painted along with drybrushing also can give stunnig results....
