97 gmc sonoma, can I remove the rear 2 ujointed side of the driveshaft from the middle support bracket, it does slide out a couple inches from that bracket and stops (again the rear side of the driveshaft) so it's teasing me, the book doesn't much address this and I don't want to take it out of the tranny cause damnit I just put new lube in!
i'm replacing the rear end and .. but also tryin to replace that rear u joint before I put the rear end on AND SO I DID THE BIG SOCKET LITTLE SOCKET VICE PERCEDURE UNDER MY REAR END GETTIN PISSED BANGIN ON THE VICE TO SCREW HARDER WITH HAMMER RELIZING IT WAS CONNECTED TO MY TRANNY STILL, and this is the reason why I ask, fuckin plastic POS u joints man, any help MUCH appreciated
the last u joint I remember torching it off I got so pissed at it

I was able to drop the rear drive shatf... However, The joints I had had inside rings on the caps.. After torching one off we figured otu they had inside retainer ring and not teh little plastic piece.. then a swift bang with a 3lb hammer knocked them right out...
