90civicrider, it will most likely be mdf; cheaper and better sound (or so i heard. i guess its a matter of opinion.)

Cheaper yes, better sound no way.
It weighs way less than a mdf box. But the pre fab boxes are a heck of alot easier than fiberglass :icon16:

my old wood box was square and sat in the middle of my trunk. it took up all the room. so jer made me this fiberglass enclosure. it is form fit to fit over the strut tower. the fiberglass enclosure is lighter than the wood box was.

probably going to sell it soon and start on a new project :naughty:

yea well come back and talk to me when you have a 6 yr old. :grinno: i use my car as a daily driver. a carpet finish holds up better than a painted finish when you are constantly putting stuff in and taking it back out of the trunk. if my car were show and not a grocery getter it would have been painted

a funny side note: victorian took up snowboarding this winter. there is exactly enough room above the enclosure that i can stick 1 side of her board on top of the enclsure & her boots under the other side of the board....and i can still close the cargo cover. :bigthumb:

This is what the set-up looks like right now. I still haven't got around to making the coverplate...

It's all getting taken out when I get home (so I can swap in the Si interior). Then I'll take some updated pics of the final result once I get the coverplate made/painted.

I used to have 2 JL 12" W6V2's each powered by there own JL 500/1 watt amp, a JL 300/4 chanel powering two JL 9X9's (XR series I think) and the most expensive JL component set, not sure what series but they had the 1" ?neodium? Tweeters and huge ass 6.5" door speakers which took alot of work to get in and a set of crossover boxes, I had one of the realy nice sony decks that changed like 15 colors (It was the model down from the one that plays dvd's) although it did put out very nice sound quality and amps or volts or something like that wasnt as high as I wanted (You can tell I been out of the stereo game for awhile) so I got a symitry (Spelling) by rockford fosgate to up the juice. I had two 1000 Watt capacitors and a optima (Secondary) battery and I had to get a upgraded alternator for more juice... That was a badass system, only cost like $6000 or so and I managed to crack the window in that hatchback with it and also cause severe hearing damage... Hence, I got rid of it.
