I have a Malibu LT with the 6-Disk CD Changer system. (No XM) Is there a way to connect other devices, such as an MP3 player, to this stereo? The SRCE button is used to play a CD if you are in BAND mode, but the instruction manual says you can also use it for "the remote device". I guess I don't know what that means. If I can hook something else up, how/where can I do it? If I can't, then what else is this button used for and what is "the remote device"??
Thanks in advance for any help!!

Hi,
Remote device means an aux audio device. In the case of Malibu or Malibu Maxx the only additional audio source would be the optional DVD for the Maxx. There is also a fleet option dual playback radio with cassette which also makes use of the Source button.
I don't know any way to connect other devices like you are asking about other than with an FM modulator. It might be possible with the Malibu Maxx DVD system which does have aux inputs jacks.
BTW if you had XM radio on your vehicle it would show up as an additional BAND

I've been checking out the various sites looking for some kind of adapter that will work with the databus that will accept RCA inputs. It looks like the 2000-2003 Malibu radio is one kind of databus, and 2004 radios are using a different kind of databus. Therefore, anything saying 2000-2004 probably won't work on the 2004 Malibu.
Has anyone had any success getting any kind of external audio through the factory radio, other than an FM modulator? If so, please post a link!

The 2004 And 2005 Use Gm-lan Systems, Not Databus. I Am Currently Talking To Pac-audio, Soundgate, And Blitzsafe On The Release Date For The Aux-input Adapters.

When I Added My Sirius Radio I Used A Wired Fm Mod, Not As Good As The Aux Adapter But It Is Alot Better Than Wireless.
