Wipers not moving

On my way to work this morning, the windshield wipers quit halfway through the swipe. I got to work and tried it again and I can hear the motor working but the wipers are not moving. I suspect bad linkage. Any thoughts?

Check the nuts on the wiper arm, they sometimes work their way loose, or may have been loosened.
