Engine swap 2.0 1997-1998

Is an engine swap on a 1997 escort 2.0 SOHC possible with a 1998 2.0 SOHC? I was told the intake manifold might be different. Is there any thing else?

are they both SPI (split port induction)? u'd think they'd be the same

Yes they are both SPI.

I don't think anything at all would be diff between the two, both 3rd gen's...

97 has a return line fuel system, 98+ does not. Just reuse your old fuel rail.
