Changing transmissions...

I'm looking to buy a late 60's early 70's muscle car soon. Its going to be my first project car. One thing that I've noticed is that a majority of the muscle cars on sale are automatics. I really prefer manuals. So about how much do you think it would cost to swap out an automatic transmission for a manual transmission (doing the work myself)

im guess a couple of grand. the hardest thing to find and probly most expensive would be the pedal setup and the clucth rods. it is basically an easy swap. good luck
