1984 Jimmy

Just purchased a 1984 jimmy on ebay got a very good price well i think it is anyways 260 bucks was told ity has a tranny leak but am told that they are known for the seals going bad, Can anyone give me any insight on there feelings on this or any other things i should know about. please reply back asap

found problem torque convertor was cracked imagine that course now i am getting no spark whatso ever/ have replaced ignition module,coil is good, pick up coil and distributor all test out good. any ideas would greatly be appreciated

heck i even drove it 700 miles and got up in morning and no spark

i have a 85 jimmy 4x4 2.8 700r4 combo i have the tranny leak too but i plan to get it fixed in class i take auto shop class at collage
however yes seal's are a common prob. on those however its not cheap to fix if professonlly done its 800 bucks appx but i am gonna do it myself on mine soon for appx 50 bucks if you cannot afford that maybe i reccommed resuching about wheather a 87 or newer 700 r4 from a 2.8 will work on your 84 i hear the 87 and newer are the good trannys does that help?
