WRX pricing

I'm about to buy a WRX (possibly within the month). A new 2004, non-STi one. Those of you with '04 WRXes, what did you pay for yours, and what options did you get? I'd like to walk into the dealership with a good idea of what I should expect to pay, bottom line. I've done the internet research, and now I want real people's pricing. e

I'm curious about this as well, since I'm more than likely purchasing a 2004 WRX in June. Right now, I can buy one off the lot without the Premium Package and all that junk I don't need for about $25,000. Sound like a good deal?

I got offered a price of $21,660 for a new '04 with the short-throw-shifter.

$21,660 sounds like a decent price.....

Zach just got his WRX for just under $22,000USD. They gave him a deal on a short throw shifter install and an STI spoiler too.

I bought mine in 8/04, not too long after the new '04 came out for $400 over invoice. I hit up about 10 dealers in my 200-300 mile radius and that was the best deal I could get back then. I think you should be ablet to do better than that at this time.

You got your car in August this year?

I think he meant '03...
Damn, WRX's are expensive here. Maybe the $25,000 I was looking at was the MSRP with options added on? I hope so.

$25000 had to have been the MSRP. The highest number I've heard so far has been $24200. And I think that car had more options than I need. And about hitting up a bunch of dealerships: I've contacted every Subaru dealer in the Dallas/Austin/SanAntonio/Houston triangle. I'm keeping them posted on each others' bids, so it's a huge bidding war right now. It's very pleasing for me as a buyer.

oh, and possibly keita meant 08/03? "Not too long after the '04 came out" and all...

I obviously meant '03. It is nice to see a bunch of dealers in bidding wars. You've got to tool them around, they want your business if you're a serious buyer.

Final price verdict, including TT&L: $23,100. That is a black '04 WRX Sport Wagon with short-throw shifter, 6-disc CD changer/tape deck, column-mounted turbo gauge, three-gauge pack (manifold vacuum, voltage, oil temp.), and security system. Plus all the standard WRX stuff. Picked it up this morning and got pulled over in it this evening. The cop asked a bunch of questions about the car and didn't write me a ticket. :-) Sweet. Can't wait for that 1,200mi. mark, when the break-in is over and I can romp in it.
