Ive got a quick question for you folks, my 90 cadillac sevilles driver side power window is not working correctly. When its goin down it makes it about 3/4 of the way down then it stops, I have to wait a few minutes to get it to continue goin down. Goin up is the same procedure, but my question is I am figuring this is due to the power window motor itself(i think) but im not to sure. I have another motor out of a different door all ready to be replaced, but i just wanna ask if there is any other possible cause for this problem. Because by looking at this door and the window motor and assembly it looks like a pain! And basicly i just wanted to make sure that was the reason it wasnt working correctly before i tore the door all apart....if anyone has some advice please leave it. thanks a lot

It May Or May Not Be The Window Motor. My 1991 Seville Has The Same Problem With The Drivers Side Window. Instead Of Messing With The Motor I Replaced The Switch That Controls All The Windows And The Drivers Side Window Works Great.

same thing happend to me. it goes down so far then stops. i thought it was switch so i replaced that $100 dollar switch and still did the same thing. it is your motor more than likely.

ive been thinkin that it was the actual motor, just dreading the whole thing. I have a another window motor and whole assembly from another seville. It was a pain in the ass removing it, and i can only imagine what putting it back in the door would be like..can anyone give me some directions or tell me how i would do it. thanks guys

it could be the preload spring on the regulator...it assists the lifting of the glass... without the spring the motor overheats and trips the internal breaker ...when the motor is removed the window should be very hard to keep up...if its not then it doesnt have any spring pressure... yes it is very hard to replace the motor
