:eek7: I have a 95 maxima gxe 5spd with 180,000miles. I would like to know if it is possible to put a 98infinityI30t engine with low miles? Will my factory manualtrans bolt up?Is the flywheel the same? What computer would I use nissan or infinity?I've been told that the infinity motor has 20 0r 30 more hp than my car stock. Is this true?Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. :eek7:

just keep the years the same. i think the only problem you would have is the ecu. the maximas have a whole butt load of ecus for the 4th gen. different production dates, transmissions, gxe, gle,se, abs. alot to take in on that part. now the i30 im not sure about as the ecus go. post a question in the infinity forum and see what you get.

Sometimes I have a hard start. once in a great while a little smoke comes out when trying to start for a while. I've already updated my starter twice to the newer starter, ngksparkplugs, 2crank sensors, cam sensor. My knock sensor code comes and I'm pretty sure I need a flywheel. Could this be my problem? Please help, my car is my pride and joy I,ve pretty much done everything up except my engine.

A 95 engine should match up to any year from 95 to a 99. In 2000 and 2001 the engine was the same VQ30, but tuned to put out more hp.

The 2000/2001 started using a variable intake similar to the MEVI. The I30 using a different transmission than a Max. As I have been shopping for mods, there is some difference between the 95-96 model and the 97-99 model. The exhaust is routed differently. They added a sensor to the airbox in '97.

The trannies won't match up. The I-30T has a limited-slip differential.

yeah but you can get a 99 with LSD so it should match up. just get a VQ30de-K out of a 2k-2k1. 227 hp in a 2900 lb max is one of my aspirations as a maxima owner. i'll bet that and a y pipe would take a VQ35 max easy.

you are where i wanted to be before i sold my 95. i wanted the engine to die so i could swap in a low mile VQ30DE-K and slap on a turbo, but my engine just would not die.

Could you put the I30t tranny and differential/drive lines in the maxima? Should match up if it's the exact same year.

That'd be cool.

What's up with all these noobies lately asking about engine swaps? Damn, that sh!t's alot more difficult and alot more expensive then you guys think! If you can't mod the car you have the right way, then buy one you can! Or better yet, buy a car you don't have to mod!! You're trying to swap an engine to get 20 more HP? Gimmie a break!
:dunno:
