how hard is this? is there a lot of custom work or is it about the same since its basically the same engine? tell me everything I could possibly need to know... I'm considering keeping my wrecked 7 a few more months so I can save up more money and maybe get a shell then buy a 13B-REW... is $2800 the usual price for this engine? links for any info are great too, and shops that will do the work and how much it costs is great too.

this is basically just an idea at the moment, so I'm still looking for a TII for now...

oh yea and did all the 13B-REW's come with front mount intercoolers? I'd guess they did since its not a top mount like the TII... never really looked into the rew that much till just now

The motor mounts are different. From all I've read it's NOT an easy conversion.

Well, if it helps, the FD tranny bolts on to the FC, so..

Why would you do it anyways? You can get the same amount of HPs out of the 13BT as you can as the REW.

I was just curious of the price difference of the swaps compared to the power output stock... but I'm sticking to the TII anyways

the rew can handle more power for one since the rotor housing are re-enforced compared to previous housings.

Sure.... But the BT can be reinforced too.. I know BT blocks that made 500+ RWHP.

yeah I was just talking about the 400hp+ range.

400 hp for a BT is easy...

I read that the housings can crack when 400hp is exceded and mazda made the rew housings stronger to prevent this from happening.

A 13B-re would be a more practical swap.....it's basically a 90 13b motor but twin turbo....it was out of one of the early cosmo cars. I see these engines all the time on ebay for about 1800, they bolt up to the TII tranny and the mounts are only 200....If you can do the work yourself, the cost is only around 3000. A guy here in town did this to his TII, a sleeper and a half....he beat the crap outta my friends Cobra Mustang!

or you could buy a 13B TII for about half that, then put on a full exhaust system, and have money left over... and be faster than the 13B-re

haha true but hey it would be different.....either way it is sooo easy to get any turbo rotary to run 12's
