what is a better block all in all. can u fellas list the highs lows or whaterver of these two. i v herd the 5.0 can handle 500hp before it splits what about the 4.6

i dont know bro, um.......and i really dont give fuk! cause its not like 4.6 are cheap to modify! it takes too much work just to swap the headers! they somehow feel pretty strong in suspension tho, try stangnet.com

There's a good question. As far as the block, I think I'd have to go with the 4.6 as being stronger. I know two guys that run 10s with the stock 4.6 block. Both cars run 20+ pounds of boost and 700+ horsepower, and one of them is a daily driver that was driven 120 miles to a racetrack, ran 10.76 and came back. (On pump gas)

Those guys run 8's with the stock block. I personally think it would take a Dart or R302 block to do that with the 5.0. Not to take anything from the 5.0 though, because I absolutely love that engine, in fact, I'm hoping to build one to drop into my 95 vert.
