Replacing front door speakers

Hi! I'm trying to replace the front door speakers on my '96 Hyundai Accent and I had a quick question. Can the speaker grills themselves be removed to expose the speakers (so i can switch them out) or do i have to remove the entire inside door trim to get at the speakers? I've already replaced the rear speakers (and that was a snap), but i just don't know about the front speakers. I've already got the speakers (4" sony xplodes :) , i just need some help with getting them in there. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanx!!

No, if you force the grill off, you won't be able to get to the bolts to undue the spaker. Just find all the little screws and then lift the door up. Its not that hard, make sure that you wire them all with the same polarities though. and if you system lacks bass, then probalby atleast one speaker is done wrong.

you dont need to take the hole panel off it is actualy easy just bend the panel up take off two screws and spin the grill so u can access the speakers it better then trying to fool around with the window handle and all.

ok, as for just bending the door panel up. I had to take off the handle and the trim pieces. its not really that hard. also, how would you expect to fit anything larger that the shitty little 4 inch speakers back through the hole in the door molding? taking off the door molding is not a big deal and takes like 5 minutes. if you are going to do it, do it right. They sell a 5 dollar tool to take off the window cranks, which makes it alot easier to get the job done as well.

Beat blaster, the first speakers i put into my accent were Sony X-plods, so i guess youre in luck! i dont know if you really want to put 4'' speakers in, but i managed to get six and a half's in the doors and the rear deck. Just take the screws off the trim on the door molding, then pull on the molding, it will pop right off, you also have to take out the screw holding the inside door handle to the door. also you have to take off te window crank, then just pull the molding off the door and you now have access to the speakers. Take the screws holding the stockers in place out, you also want to remove the platic backing that the speakers are resting in if you have a bigger size speaker than stock, if you are using stock speakers then it should be reusuable. im pretty sure that the 4" speakers you are using will fit right into the existing hole. after that, unclip the speaker wire. if you got a kit with your speakers you should just be able to plug the new speakers right in. Since i used six and a half's i had to drill new mounting holes for my speakers. replace the door molding put you arm rest back into place and install your door handle. also make sure you dont loose the little clip with your window crank or it will not stay in place all that well. also, the only problem i had with my set of x-plods is that they are ungodly trebely, you might want a little extra kick from a sub to try to balance it out. Im not sure how much bass the 4" x-plods can push. What size speaker did you put in the rear deck? if you thought the rear deck was a snap, which it was, you should have no problem putting the speakers in the front doors. i would go to your local auto parts store and get a window handle remover, its just a cheap part that will save you alot of time and frustration.

And there you have it, i hope this helps at leat a little bit.
