Tamiya paints are good! The best way to use them is by airbrushing. So if you plan to brush paint, maybe you'd better take enamels... But both give good results. It's only a question of personnal tastes...

Tamiya Acrylics are EXCELLENT.
Are you painting your car with an airbrush? You should get a quart size cup for Low Pressure High Volume paint gun. Then get a big 60-80Gallon compressor for it as well. And so on, if you want details PM me.

Hmm...
To paint the body I would (and do) use decanted Tamiya TS (synthetic lacquer) and shoot the body over the obvious Tamiya white or grey primer. Not only is the paint much stronger than the acrylic, but a decanted can lasts several models...
Tamiya (and Testor's Acryl) acrylic lines have their place, but I have yet to master the art of using it for the entire body of a model.
hth,
Bill
