does it turn over or do you just get lights?

So, when you start it in the morning and turn it off then it would not start.

Exactly, does the engine just spins and spins when you crank it but would not stay running on its own? OR
The does engine does not spin at all when you crank it?

The problem could be the coil housing.
The coil housing is notorious of failing but when it fails it usually just won't fire or just fires 2 out of 4 coils and you will have a severe misfire.

A possibility would be a fuel pressure regulator. When the diaphragm inside the fuel pressure regulator fails, it allows the fuel to pass to the ruptured diaphragm and into the vacuum hose then to the intake (you could be running too rich all the time). Once you waited 20 minutes, it might be enough fuel the fuel to evaporate and enough to spark the spark plugs again.
A best way to find a ruptured fuel pressure regulator diaphragm would be to disconnect the vacuum hose and if you see traces of fuel in the vacuum hose then the diaphragm has ruptured.

when it doesnt start it just turns over, no misfire no stuttering no extra lights. when its running it runs fine again no stuttering hesitation etc. my daughter claims it burns a lot of gas but she has never checked mileage. where is the fuel diaphragm at?

its on the far right side of your fuel rail. should be a thin vac hose connecting to the top of it. good call slade i was thinking too much fuel also.
