4x4 front hubs

I inherited an 86 Ram pickup with the 318 and 4 wheel drive. I found the wheels I wanted and put them on this weekend with new tires. That's when I discovered the front hubs are very long. I suspect it is because it is the original automatic locking hubs. They work fine but I can't get the hub covers on. What are my options? Do I need to find special hub covers, learn to live with it, or update the hubs.
Thanks for the help
John

get yourself some warn hubs, and some open center hub covers. Or, just the open center hub covers, they are built for those applications

Thanks, I do have some nice looking covers with the Ram head on them but I may have to be happy with the open covers
Appreciate your reply

You HAVE to use open hub covers. If you've gotten factory late model wheels, they don't make open covers for them. You may be able to modify them (cut the center out) but that could end up looking uglier than without the caps at all.
