i raced my friends 98 Z28, i knew from the begining i was going to lose but i didnt think i would lose by 2 seconds, of course he does have 550hp without the juice and he used it just to show me how much faster he was he has about 625 hp with the juice. I had him off the line for a split second my RT was .698 his was .924. my time was 9.9 his was 7.9

even though you knew you were gonna lose you at least had a try and went for it, that gains my respect much better than those other kind of people who complain that the other car has so much more hp so whats the point in trying. Its all good fun and as they say, race what you brought.

agreed. a lot of people wouldn't have run if they knew from the beginning they'd lose. still a 9 second run, pretty damn good.

He ran a 7.9 with a RT of .924 in a 3600lb vehicle with only 625hp???

im guessing he had a little traction problem.... whats he run in the 1/4?

9 and 7 seconds? it takes a LOT of power just to break 10...and most cars i see under 9 seconds are really - really - really radical. correct me if im wrong but were almost talkin funny cars here (or did you mean the 1/8th)?

You want to talk about raped at a drag strip, I was knocked out of the last round by a 19 second Buick Perissane...Parissenne...Per...Oh, how ever the hell you spell it. Then the guy went on to beat a pro-stock Cutlass Ciera. Bracket racing blooows.

if that is the a picture of the car you ran at the track.

really one low??? you can tell how fast that car is just by looking at it???? thats one helluva self rightious statement. youd be surprised how fast some "plain" looking cars can be. ive seen an old beat up primered nova run 9's and even 1969 ZL1 camaros with dog dish hubcaps, ran 11's. so unless you got some kinda proof, to back up what your sayin, i think you shuold probly tread somewhat softer. just my two cents. although i agree that it sounds like they are talking 8th mile. you just have no place to tell him how fast his car is, and think thats the end of the debate.

hehe im a little lost right now one guys talkin about a 19 second buick that runs pro and someone else is talkin about people judging cars by looks and i dont see any posts about that...all i know is it seems like two 4th gen z28s ran under 10 seconds, the fastest with a crappy RT, and ontop of that im not getting the feeling of 'pro street' from that post.. of course you cant put anything past die hard racers, but 8 seconds flat is pretty damn quick for a 'friends 98 z28' which i would assume by that statement means its a daily driven car.

man it would be almost impossible to have an 8 sec car as a daily driver, youd have to be rich and be cool with all the cops, i just dont see it happining, ive seen a few 10 sec daily drivers

me and tacoma man ran from the cops once,
almost got caught. i think he's going to turn
that firebird into a drag car. he almost wrecked
it the other day. i think it still has the regular
firebird rearend in it, it burns the tires too easy
to have a trans am rear end under it.

Did your friend have traction problems? He should be doing better than 7.90 in the 1/8th. What was his short time?
