My Lotus Experience

i love the esprit, what a supercar. the reason i fell in love with them is because i got to drive one a few weeks back. you dont see them but if you know cars you know of them, so needless to say it was a real treat. a buddy of mine and i decided to go to a high end sports car dealership outside chicago, fox valley motorsports. ferrari, lambo, porsche, panoz, stuff like that. anyway, we went out there just to look at cars, just to drool, since were college kids theres no way theyd give us the time of the day naturally. well when we were planning this he knew someone who knew someone, you know how that goes, thats the general manager there. so he kinda just humored us a little while we were there. it was great, we were sitting in cars and firing them up, it was sweet. anyway, as we were going to leave he asks us if we want to take the lotus out. OH MY!!! never thought that would happen. so here i am, 20 years old, sitting in a '04, turbo v8, esprit easing out the clutch...and i stall. it was a little embrassing. but i regained my composure and took it out. on our way back to the dealership i see like a 00 cobra mustang at the stoplight in front of us. he turns, and then i do a bit later. he pulled off to the side of the road to wait for me. as he sees me he pulls out, and the dealer riding with me just says, "take him." so cool, and calm he says it. so i do. man what power, it was amazing. then i slow down, no sense going 100+ in a 45 zone. then he catches up, and as he passes i down shift and smoke him again! it was quite an experience to say the least. ill never forget it. so i just wanted to retell that adventure with people who can appreciate it. id post a pic but it says i cant, so thats all i can tell you.
