Just thought I'd like to hear everyone's imput on the subject.

I have my own personal stories of missing class because I was soo tired...I just wanted to finish 'this one part' before going to bed the previous night (needless to say 'that one part' became another and another etc..)

...when you're posting on AF at 11:54 at night when you have an exam in European Intellectual History since 1850 at 10am the next morning. Instead of studying. I should be studying. I just wish Heidegger built model cars instead of being an existentialist.

when you've checked the forum at 4:00 am because you were just working on a build.

or

you've spent an entire beautiful day in your basement to "just finish that body kit"

or

you spent the last $20 you have on some paint because "it has to be the right color"

...when you're posting on AF on your teacher's laptop while he goes running down the hall chasing after some kids after they tagged up a wall.

.......when you finish a model at 4 in the morn and post pics even tho you tripped 5 times walking up stairs and cant see straight.

...after you have sex with your girlfriend and you go right to a model.

...your kids save their easter egg wrapers "for daddy's models"

...everytime your in autozone, walmart, or hobbystore you habitually buy paint b/c you like the color. even though you have that color or you don't even need it for any of the models you work on. I can't leave autozone without 3 cans of paint.

When you finish a model you can't decide between 10 or so different models to take its place on the workbench. I could go on for days.

Ya, I think I'm guilty of that too...it just 'helps' when you have something to keep your mind off it! ;)

ha, worked instructions on how i wanted the lighting and wireing in my modeling room into the contract when we wrote it up on my new house. You should have seen the builders face when i explained why it was so diffrent.

I'll bite, how do you have it set up?

i wanted florescent lights end to end over the workbench he's building. We're going to talk more about the area i'm gonna have the spray booth and sink mounted. The thing that he was so confused about is why i was converting a room he planned to be a den downstairs into a modeling room. I picked it b/c on the other side of the wall there was a half bath so we just made it with the sink on the other side. Sorry i'm not very good at explaining how it's gonna be laid out but once i get it finished i'll post up pics. The builder is just going to get it wired up and install the lights. I'm gonna have to slowly build it up how i want it, right now it's just unfinished basement.

hmmm, how about when you start to make minature chassis frames just because you want to put another engine into a certain car.....

Same for me. I've actually scored some chicks after they saw my models. They say it indicates patience and attention to detail. Little do they know that it's patience and attention to detail.... only for model cars!

Haha it is like screw the chick. It is all about models.

when u wake up at 7am in the morning, dont brush ur teeh, dont eat breakfast, dont shower, and go straight back to working on that model which u stopped working on at 1:30 am the previous night, and work on it non-stop till u realise u have work at 5pm and its 4:55 pm..

when you throw your friends out because you are going to work with the suspension.

when you are responding to a fire call and using the on-board computer on the fire truck to go on AF.

When you stay home alone all day (like today) while its gorgeous outside just to apply some decals on a model.

When you take over 84 pictures of a model just to have them saved in a folder.

When you have been saving up 400 dollars for a flight to Dominican Republic and know that your not supposed to use that money yet still go to your LHS and use that money to buy some Scale Motorsports Carbon Fiber Decal and another Revell Civic Coupe.(Yesterday)
^^ now i have to hear my father complaining about how i don't use my money wisely.

When you spend 2 hours watching the list of models in HLJ just to see the box art and fantasize about the model. :lol:

When its 12am and you need to wake up at 6 am and decide to polish your model a little more.

When the first thing you do when you get home from school is to go check to see how the paint dried on your model.

When your in Art class and have a project due the same day but decide to go use the computer to check AF and not work on the project.

When your 3 days of work behind in Computer Literacy class and you're looking through the completed and in progress section to see if anyone has new progress of their models.

When you know you have a break of school next week and plan out which part of the model you will work on in that week. (monday=primer everything, tuesday=work on the interior,wednesday=do the suspension,thursday=paint the model,friday= clear coat the model, saturday=paint the tail lights and touch up on other things,Sunday=Polish the model and Assemble the whole kit.) :rofl:

When u have 30 waiting model in your ebay list, when u buy 2 more models to the same guy "just to reduce" shipping cost and when u saw that u allready won 3 times the same :smokin:

when you get really mad at yourself for doing something wrong on a kit that won´t be seeable after the final assembly at all

when you spend a lot of money on p/e sets that include brake discs that will be hidden totally behind your choice of wheels :screwy:

when you spend all day working on models, then go to bed sometime around 1 or 2 in the morning. wake up at 3 am realizing that you just got a brilliant idea and need to get it done as quick as possible before you forget. so you write up some quick plans (10-15 mins). go outside, fire up the dremel, have the cops called, and the next day when you get released, go back to modelling
