Using silicone lubricant to shine up interior

Today I was spraying down my door hinges when I got some on the vinyl. I wiped the silicone lubricant off, but to my surprise it left the door with a deep shine. Has anyone used silicone lubricant to shine up their interiors? I'm wondering if this is safe to use to clean up the interior.

the stuff u rub on to tires (not the spray) is sillicon based and works on plastic. don't use the spray...use the stuff made for plastic trim (spray is flammable too--trust me.....).
