Roof

My mother-in-law has a 2004 Ford Taurus. After leaving church one night she found the roof of her car caved in. That night it was raining hard and lighting. My first thought as to what happened is that some kid got on top of the car and jumped up and down on the roof and caved it in. But, there are no shoe prints or scratches. Could it have caved in due to changes in barometric pressure?

My question to you is this. Is it possible for the roof of your car to cave in for no reason at all? Could this be a defect in the manufacturing? I have never seen anything like this in my 36 years of life. :screwy:

Ford vehicles are very air tight now. I can't see barometeric pressure changes caving a roof in. If this was the case then you would be able to open the doors from the vacuum created inside. But hay, anything is possible with a Ford. :werd:

I would go with the kid jumping up and down theory. Sneakers don't leave any marks.

Ask her insurance agent. If it's Fords problem he/she will surely let you know. I would be very surprised if it was. Could it have been parked under a tree where a branch may have come down on it during the storm?

My mother-in-law talked to the insurance agent and she does not believe anyone has jumped on the roof. She suggested having my mother-in-law write Ford and if she does not get satisfaction then she will use the lemon laws in this state(Texas).

Wow! You folks must have some God awful storms. Post back when you find out more, please? Could be the insurance co. just doesn't want to pay, you think? Not in a million years. Tee Hee
