I am doing this car for a friend of mine. Its a replica of his 1:1 driver.
Its a Tamiya kit with a custom bodykit fashioned after a 1:1 expression tuning of Belguim kit, exclusive to Mercedes.

Nice job, do you plan on doing the little cell phone holder? I think that would be a nice touch IMO.

I would, but the owner did not have the cell phone anymore ;)

im not a big fan of the 1:1 SLK230, but this blue one is very nice.
your modeling so far is spot on, excellent work. one thing is the sideskirts don't resemble his yet, but you did mention you need to reshape them so we will see. :D
great work so far!

That interior is killer! Looks spot on, and is very clean. A clean interior goes a long way in making a model look good. If you get that fold in the sideskirt, you'll have a perfect model of his ride. Are you going to do the glass behind the seats? Is that a factory or aftermarket part?

its aftermarket and Yes I will be kaing that as well

Very nice machine, I'm envious! One thing I did notice is the cuttout for the rear number plate. The real car has a US size plate, the model european sized. Would be very messy and time consuming to fix, but should be doable. Depends how much time you are willing to spend. Good luck with the sideskits and everything.

hehe Thats the debate I have, but thankfully, my friend is changing his decklid to EUrospec so thats not going to be a problem :) good eye RallyRadier. I have a eurospec on mine also.

Awesome, don't change the model, change the car
Oughta happen more often, why should we poor suffering modelers always have to change things to accomodate the real world? I salute such out-of-the-box thinking :salute: (whatta ya mean there's no such smilie?)

nice job on the body kit so far, and the 1:1 looks really clean. One question though, what do you plan to do about the wheels?
