Amp Install?!

Hooking up an amp via High Level Input. I put the leads where they ned to go, left channel in left speaker and so on with the right speaker. Does this need a remote turn on input since its high level input? If it is How do I remove the factory radio in my 1998 Infiniti I30? If anyone has installed an amp via high level input please help!!
