Window Tinting Question

Hey I have a 97 Ford Escort 4-door and I'm wondering what is the darkest tint i can go without getting in trouble with the cops? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

yeah it depends on the state but what kind of car doesnt matter. you can call the state patrol offices in your area and theyll tell you what is legal. but as far as what you can do without getting in trouble, all depends on the cop.
