I have a '90 laser 1.8 that is pouring the maximum amount of fuel possible. The computer is coding the mass air flow sensor, but it is not bad. What else could cause the code? We have tried the fuel pressure regulator and the computer with no luck. This all comes after a head gasket change. Have run a compression check and running 175 lbs. on all four.

I would check the ECU for leaky caps.

I do believe you were right. Unfortunately in the time before you post, while trying various things, I believe we damaged the computer worse. I took it apart and sure enough there was a cap with all its insides oozing out the bottom. Something we did messed something else up. Even before I took it apart, I tried resetting it to see if anything we did got rid of the code. It wouldn't reset. No matter how long I left the battery cable off, no go. And I know it did work because we've cleared it before and the check engine would not come up until it ran for a few seconds. Now it is on all the time. Looks like i'm in for a new computer.

Check www.dsmtrader.com.
Also, if you don't check this for a couple of weeks, I'll have a 5spd turbo ECU for sale.
