I have a 2000 Blazer that the rear hatch will not open. I believe that the plastic arm on the accuator is broke, but I dont know how to get it open so I can fix it. Thanks for any advise.

mine did the same, found the fix on this site actually in earlier thread. there is a hole underneath the carpet on the tailgate that you can put a screw driver in and pop the latch to open the window. my plastic arm had broken also, i just took some picture hanging wire and twisted it around the arm of the solenoid and metal latch that the plastic piece once contacted and it's been working great ever since. a new actuator for that will set u back about $70 at the dealer, but no need....

Look in your owners manual. It explains how to open it in there.

Does it make a noise when you push the button?
If it doesnt, check ur fuse. If it is the fuse the lighter wont work either.

We got some really good help online for this problem, just not all in the same site. So here is what we did to fix it for free!!!!!!
First cut a square hole ,In center below latch, above the soft spot in the carpet below plastic.
Second use a screwdriver to hold the gold arm over and have someone from the outside open the window.
Third unscrew the paneling , it won't come off , but gives you wiggle room for the fourth and last step.
Last Use a Wire, one that bends and wraps easy with plastic coating, and thread wire through hole in the gold arm and wrap and then wrap the wire around the blue plastic thing.Make it tight !!!!!
Sorry I am not a mechanic, so I don't know the terminology for the pieces and parts.
But it's free and not to hard for a D.I.Y er. That's my :2cents:.
Good Luck and "Do it with a
