i've had my 2g gst since december and i'm getting pretty tired of rolling on the stock 16" chrome wheels.
i'm trying to figure out which way to go with wheels. i'm pretty set on 18s, but not too sure about which style/brand to go with.
i found these falken torque5's on the web and was wondering if any of you know how good or shitty falken wheels are. i've always heard mixed reviews over their azenis sport tires...so i don't know what to expect with their wheels. any help???

so far, i'm thinking these or tenzo psycho. my car is silver btw.

I dunno about the the brand. But it does look damn nice :)
Also if those are going to be 18's, you might want to consider bigger rotors. Otherwise it will just look weird. :2cents:

They're good. I wouldn't call them god's gift but from what I"ve seen and heard from people that have them they are a good rim. about par with adr. Plus I really like the style, especially the one's you posted.
You don't HAVE to replace your rotors. but he's right. it will help with looks and braking will be increased. so it's a good thing. expensive.. but good. stock rotors work fine though. or you could go on ebay and get some cheap slotted ones. it's up to you. good luck.

i know they are new on the market and i like most of the models. i would try to find out a weight to do some real comparison to other wheels. :)

that's it. it's done.
i ordered a set of these. 18x7.5 falken torque5 in gunmetal.
they're gonna be wrapped in falken ziex ze 512; 225 40zr 18 tires.
grand total including mounting, balancing, tuner lug nuts (spline drive) and shipping was $1,150.00
i should have them by the weekend, and i'll post up pics as soon as they're on the car.
that's about all i'm going to be doing for the exterior.
next up, fmic and bov.
EDIT: hey vince, they're 24 pounds each. not sure on the weight with tires.
also, the gunmetal paint is lighter than the picture i posted. they're actually more on the hyperblack side. which makes me like them even better!

there was a problem! :swear:
dude said he oversold on the 18x7.5, and that there was a backorder through falken.
anyway, he set me up with 18x8 and 235 40zr 18 tires for no extra charge...which i would've expected anyway. i was kind of worried about fitment, but i read a few reviews on dsmreviews.com and around the net. this size seems to fit well, so it looks like this will work out afterall.
new tracking information shows delivery by 5/28/04, friday.
HURRY UP STUPID FEDEX!!! :banghead:
just thought i'd let you all know why i haven't posted any pics yet.

woke up this morning to fedex ringing on my doorbell early as shit...
anyway, i'm about to watch my lakers close out the timberpups, so i took these pics real quick, hence the crappy quality. oh well.
let me know what you all think! also, what about the heighth? should i mess with my coilovers or do you think it looks good as is? the ride quality is bad ass right now!
and ash, they were $1150 balanced, mounted and shipped.

Those look sweet... I either want to replace my bent wheel with another stock TSI 17'' and paint them black with a polished lip, or get some less expensive 17'' or 18'' wheels that weigh less, and get some not-bald tires too. Wouldn't mind a brake upgrade at the same time.

VERY nice-- I've had my eye on those wheels ever since they first came out a little while back. The only thing I'm a bit hesitant about is the weight.
BTW, I think your ride height is just right.
