Does anyone know if there are any companies that make shims for the 02 wrx transmissions?

It shims the tranny from the engine block. Like if your flywheel was too fat and you didnt want to hit the shifting fork, you'd shim it to move it away.

that's what i thought, but how would the flywheel hit the shift fork? i'm not understanding why you'd need this.

Maybe if you're using an after-market flywheel?

Yes, aftermarket flywheels. Its an option to do it if you get a flywheel that is too thick which is the case with the 02 wrx and their cutoff dates. Some are 6/2001 and up build dates and the others are 5/2001 and below. Mine was built in 1/2002 so i should have had to used the 6/2001 and up but nooo i have to use the 5/2001 and below flywheel. 02 wrx's are all screwed up. Sad thing is, the difference between the 2 flywheels is 1/8 in thickness.
