Last night while driving to the drive in i accidently hit a curb and while at the drive in i drove with the Emergency brake on. Not sure if this has anything to do with this morning both my ABS light and Emergency break lights being on. I have tried to shut off the car and let it reset it self but as soon as i turn it back on it turns on both lights with in 30 seconds. My brakes today have been much harder to stop. Also i currently have a an O2 sensor in my heater block currently needs replacing. My question being. Is there any ideas on how i can fix this problem. Or what it might be. Its got me scared b/ i've only had the car 2 months. 94k on the car. I have tried a couple things i have read on here. My parking break is disenaged b/ my day time running lights are on. Any ideas please help.

Did you just hit the curb with the outside surface of the tires or the underside of the vehicle (inside part of the tires)?

Do you still have a brake?

I would try to raise up the engine and remove the tires and check for any visible sign of damage or disconnected ABS sensor and ABS sensor wire. If you don't see any sign of damage, I would play dumb and bring it back to the dealership if you know what I mean ;)

Well is a 99. So its not new.. I hit it just right underneath the driver side fog light. I can see where it impacted and its just part of the frame. No big deal. Its where most cars scrape due to dips in the road. Yes i still have brakes but they are harder to push down and not as good as they were.. (I read in the owners manual that if the ABS and the brake light both come on its due to the face your ABS is having a problem and braking will be harder till it is fixed.)

Question being where is the ABS sensor and ABS Sensor Wire? Are they located with the acutally located behind the tire with the brakes themselfs. Question being wouldn't if this was a problem last night it should have had problems last night and not this morning??? Thanks..

Getting in a little late on this one. My ABS and Brake lights are on, the brake pedal is hard to push and the back brakes aren't engaging. I lifted the back end, had someone push on the brake pedal but I could still turn the rear tires. Simply an ABS sensor or problem with the master cylinder????

brock sensor is possible with the lights i havent experienced that problem YET. umm it almost sounds like air in the line. did you check the fluid level in the master cylinder? me newest problem is my cruise dont always work unless i turn the trac. control off then its fine. and anyone whos experiencing turn signales that wont work all the time.. its the hazard switch on the 99 grand am. repalce the switch all should be fine with that.
