Engine in 1998 Galant ES? Durability?

Can anyone give me the specs or tell me where to find the specs for the engine in a 1998 Galant ES? I'm not too up on Mitsubishi engines. I'm a Honda guy myself. But I just bought my wife the Galant and I'm looking for engine specs so I can start toying with it. I've heard Mitsubishi makes good engines, but like I said, I have no technical knowledge of them whatsoever. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
