Normal order has resumed

I watched the first session and nothing out of the ordinary happened. Apparently it's the case of the track getting faster as the session was progressing as well as some drivers not bothering going 100 % and/or having more fuel on board. Montoya was trying very hard though in both sessions, and Rubens ... I don't know what to say. Here is the order the drivers will start the race in:

The top of the grid is pretty much par for the course this year, though Sato instead of Button is a bit unusual.

But let's hear it for Panis! Toyota could really use a stout run, and him starting in 7th is a fairly good beginning.

And the official word from SpeedTV is that it was a "wind gust" that got Button off into the grass on his qualifying attempt.

Amazing start from Jarno, normal for Takuma and MS and very bad for JPM.

Apparently Alonso doesn't know how to set up a car.

Can Rubens come out in front of JOM and/or Sato? He's just done two amazing laps in a row.

I think he can, his last lap was 2.5 sec. quicker than JPM's

Rubens pits and Rejoins in 3rd, and apparently with 1 less stop to make than everyone but the Saubers.

What we haven't seen is Alonso getting by JPM at the pitstops (I presume)

Trulli pits for the second time ... Very very early. Eithe they are 4-stopping or they put really little fuel at the first stop in an attempt to keep Schumi behind.

Schumi also pits and manages, just, to keep the lead in front of Rubens.

Schumi is already at his cruising point, no pressure.

Button comes out in front of DC. Let's see what he can do in clean(er) air.

Is Jag in the race?

Button is now also in front of Kimi with the two Macs together behind him. Now Button is up to 10th after getting by Klien. Massa is next on his list.

I've seen Klien several times (when he was passed and when he made a mistake early in the race). Yet to see Webber, so there's a Jag in the race, and that's all I can say for sure ;)

Noticed the slow work on the front tyre too, but the tyre was on before refuelling finished, his getaway wasn't brilliant though.

Remember Monaco 2001? Michael's rear suspension failed due to heat build-up resultant from the cracked exhaust.

Both Kimi and Montoya (the latter coming in for the 4th time) have prblems in the pits. Day over for JPM. Bye.

Win number 75 for Schumacher on his 200th outing in a Grand Prix, his record-equalling 5th in a row this season, his 4th in a row at Barcelona. Rubens second (I'm sorry, Rubens, I was too quick to judge), then both Renaults with Trulli in front of his teammate, then Sato, Ralf, Fisico and Button taking the last point. Mass 9th, then DC and Kimi, and the invisible Webber and Da Matta are the last ones to see the chequered flag.

To be honest, for a little bit I was pulling for Trulli.

Wouldn't that be a kick in the face of Montoya and Raikkonen if Jarno Trulli was the man to end the Ferrari win streak?

Deliberately didn't watch this weekend in the hope that I'd miss something interesting. Didn't work :dunno:
