I was wondering would a apexi N1 muffler go onto a stock exhaust pipe of a 97 eclipse

no, the inlet of the N1 style mufflers is larger than stock exhaust. You can make it happen, yet... why do you want that? Just take off your stock muffler if you want more noise. REAL N1 mufflers are expensive as hell, so I wouldn't recommend buying one considering it doesn't help any.

I already bought it and it is "REAL" N1 and it was only 239 for the muffler

only?
I just bought a boost gauge, 2 gauge bezel, boost controller, UICP, and BOV for under $300. I can't see myself spending the same money on a muffler. I'd rather just take off the stock one and pretend I'm faster.

You should of just saved for a full cat-back.
Or
You could of bought a stock 2g GST/GSX/TSi/TSi AWD muffler for $20-50. It flows a lot more than the stocker and gives off a deep tone.
With the rest of the money you could of bought a CAI or just saved up for a cat-back.

soeaking of exhausts not to change the topic but has anyone ever put a dual exhaust on a 2g dsm? I've only ever seen one 1g eclipse with it thats why I was wondering if it can be done on the 2g.
I assume it can I just dunno where to start. I've never done an exhaust system before so would I just take it to a place like mineke(sp?) and have them put one on?

You should go to a muffler shop and get a cat-back fabricated for rather cheap. That would be the best thing to do and will give you some gains also.

the apex muffler on a stock pipe is loud as hell. kind of annoying and droning as shit on a long drive. it'll give you a headache. my friend has one on his rs. I would have a muffler shop bend you an exhaust to go with the muffler. depending on if you got the turbo or NA muffler the inlet will be too big but still dooable. The na inlet is 2 and a half. I cut a V into it and crimped it around his car then welded it on for him. wasn't too hard. we had to fabricate a hanger system too because the stock muffler has the bars on it for the hanger and we lost those. it's not too hard though. it sounds pretty good just too loud for me. We don't really have any shops around here that bend exhausts (at least that I know of) so we did it that way till he gets his turbo. (he's another NA driver ditching his ride for a turbo)
as far as the dual exhaust goes, it is pointless to do on a four cylinder. the car is an inline 4. not a v style. meaning there aren't seperate exhaust chambers. so to put a dual exhaust on would mean you put on a Y pipe and rout the dual from after the cat. basically doing nothing but costing you an assload of money. plus you need to fabricate the rear bumper for the extra muffler. you would get more backpressure from a dual (especially on a NA) than performance gains. You'd be better off just getting a 3 in (turbo) or 2 1/2 (NA) single. may not look as cool, but will perform much better. and be cheaper. this is all my 2 cents of course. Good luck.

Whoa! ONLY $239 for the muffler? I spent exactly $505.90 on the greddy evo2 cat-back system. You spent half the money for a 1/3 of the cat-back exhaust.

ebay is ebay. Expect to get ripped off. If you don't then it is all for the better.

extremepsi.com. they WERE having a deal on them. you could get the N1 DP and cat back for 699. which is a really good price! but I think you said yours is NA so, you won't need that. look around. especially on ebay. there's nothing wrong with buying name brand stuff off ebay. it's still the same quality, just better price. Good luck
