Curious to this, as I read everywhere that everyone's gauge averages 1/4 at full warm up. My gauge has always read 1/2, never once overheated.

Is this normal?

Mine is also at half. If others are at a quarter they must have different thermostats that open sooner, or our thermostats are not opening properly.

My 2002 3.2L basically goes from full cold to almost half way on the gauge when warm. Outside temp or driving conditions don't cause any changes at all. These gauges are no more than a "go, no-go" type of indicator anyway. No worries unless it stays in the cold or in the hot range. A scanner that gives real time data would be a good way to get the actual operating temp of these engines.
