what is the potential time that can be shaved by just changing the gears in the rear differential on a stock 95 gt auto vert

Well it depends which gears. For you I would go with 4:10's and that should take about .4 or .5 of your 1/4.That is how much time was shaved off from people I know after getting 4:10's.

Just so you know,It will be harder to get traction and if you don't know how to launch and can't get traction your 1/4 times will suffer.I highly suggest getting posi and/or Nitto's.Getting traction mods with your gears will drop your 1/4 times even more.Your car can have all the power in the world but it won't have it's full potential unless it can get good traction.

Why would he want "posi"? That's a Chevy thing.

I don't know what 4:10's will due for your 1/4 mile but I do know what that will do to your gas milage. 373's are a good gear for the street. In the end you won't get enough traction to make a huge impact on the 1/4 mile anyway. You'll feel like your accelerating faster though. My guess is either 373's or 4:10's `Q

Maybe HIFlow is being picky but I think he has a point. Do you know how many people(also Chevy guys) that don't under-stand POSI is just a name GM gave an LSD. They think it is some superior/untouchable rear diff or something.
