Our car hasn't been started in a while. It will make a whirring noise when you try to start but the engine does not turn over. The battery is good and it was recently tuned up. Someone said that sometimes the starter body needs to be whacked. Can someone tell us where it is located or give us any other help with our problem? Thanks.

don't hold me to this, but i believe the starter body is located on the underside of the engine on the passenger side, near the belts. I'm not looking under the car at the moment so I'm not 100% sure. I ahve heard if you give a "whack" with a hammer or something, that the starter will work when trying to start the car. I really don't know how hard you have to hit it , and if it always works.... I haven't tried it yet, (I will be soon though)
