Front license plate

Does anyone know if it is legal to have your front license plate in your window in Cali? Or does anyone have a website about it?

What on gods green earth is compelling you to do this? Just out of shear curiosity?

so you dont have to mount it on your bumper... like if you dont want to put holes in your bumper!
