Just Wondering How Come The Supras Like The '94 And Up Cost More Than The Ztt If They Both Have Almost The Same Amount Of Power! I Read That The Supra Has 10 More Hp Than The Ztt But Its Heavier So Why Are They Much More Expensive? Maybe I Read Wrong But Does Any Body Know??

Well the Supra is a single turbo, but being said they are way more expensive than a 300ZX TT, even though the 300ZX can gain a lot of power from simple mods the Supra is unbelieveable as to how much they can get out of it without internals, way more than the 300ZX

I See What Your Saying But Still If Compare A 96 Ztt To A 96 Supra There Still Asking Like 10 To 15k More!! Damn Almost Like Semi New Price

the last gen body came in either Twin or Non Turbos..single turbo supras are either the 1JZ or modified 2JZ with 1 large turbo (has to be converted). You cant really tell the difference between the two car just by looking at spec sheets and numbers. You have to drive both to understand what they are capable of. Do you wonder why JGTC uses supras and not Z32s? thats a prime example of limitations of its tuning abilities.

They actually used the Z32 in JGTC for atime until the GTR's replaced them. Just like now... the Z33's are being used, but I can assure you... when the new GTR R35 arrives in 2007... the Z will be replaced yet again.
I'm not so sure why everyone thinks the Supra is so much better than the TT Z. When they are both modded... I have seen both Z and Supra's reaching 600HP and beyond. Ever see a 1000HP Supra? Well, they have 1000HP Z32's too!

the last gen supras were twin sequential turbos. one tuned for low end power, and the other for high end, thats why turbo lag is vertually non-existent. and just for the record, they do have 1000hp+ supras. in fact, they probably have more than z's. the i6 engines are much stronger than v6.the only reason they are so much more expensive is because they are so much more rare, plus its become a sort of cult following.
p.s. the mkIII supras came in a 3liter n/a, 3liter single tubo, and 2.5liter twin turbo.

Who said there were not any Supra's with 1000Hp? I didn't.... :screwy: But, yes... there are more Supra's putting out that kinda HP then there are Z's... sadly.

Hi everyone, this is my first post on this site...and it may be a bit of a controversial one :-)
To answer the question about the insanely high priced Supras:
I think the price of the Supra is so much greater than that of a 300zx Twin Turbo for one reason. "The Fast and The Furious". The Supra was featured in the movie, which was seen by millions of teenage ricers. That publicity (negative IMHO) has caused the price of the Supras to rise. As a result of that movie, people now think the Supra is a supercar. Thus, they will pay more for it....all because it was featured as the main car in "The Fast and The Furious".
I know this next statement is going to fuel a fire...but...please remember..it's only my opinion.
I would NEVER pay more for a Supra than a 300zxTT. When I was "car-shopping" I wasn't even considering any other car than the 300zx. And the reason for that is simple. It's just looks a helluva lot better than the Supra. I think the styling is MUCH better than that of the Supra. The Supra looks like a bubble to me. The Z, on the other hand, has a more sleek, aggressive, exotic look. The 300zx looks similar to an Italian exotic (Ferrari...etc...) with it's low stance and smooth curves.
I have a 1994 Twin Turbo Z and I love it. The interior is awesome, handles like a dream, and still smokes almost any punk that wants to rev his engine.
PS: Check out my website 300zxTwinTurbo.com (http://www.300zxtwinturbo.com)....it has over 200 car-related videos, pictures, and a great forum for 300zx discussion. I would really appreciate it if some of you guys would register at my forum and post some topics. Things have been kinda slow over there lately and maybe you guys can get the ball rolling again.
Thanks for reading,

The MkIV Supra was an insanely complicated computer controlled sequential turbo setup, which is actually a "bi-turbo" system because the turbos are not exactly twins...one's bigger then the other, that helped to reduce turbo lag. There are drawbacks to this system, and that's why people usually switch to one giant turbo when they go for the insane power. The 2JZ-GTE engine has MASSIVE potential. I'm a Z fiend (and I'd LOVE a 94 TT...damn you,300zxTwinTurbo.com... :icon16:) but I must say that the Supra's inline-6 has more potential then the VG30DETT. I've seen upwards of 800hp at the wheels coming out of supras without doing any internal work. VERY impressive engines. Not to say the VG isn't, either...don't get me wrong. The VG has a lot of potential, but the 2JZ is up there with the RB26 found in Skylines...both have MASSIVE potential. Another "plus" of the Supra is that you can get them with 6 speed manuals. As for looks...the Z wins without a doubt...as for pure power potential...gotta go with the supra. I'd still take a Z hands DOWN. Those damned movies that killed so many of our beloved supras and skylines really did do a lot for driving the price of used MkIV supras. 2 reasons I will not contribute in any way to the people that made those movies...The fact that they killed so many cars that we would all LOVE to have and the fact that they royally screwed up the supra market.

Exactly. The Supra in my opinion and just in general fact, is a great car. 2JZ, probably the best motor to come out of Japan, production wise. Just too ricey. An oridinary non-car person will look at it and they already know that it is a Japanese sports car. Not anything wrong with that, I'm just sayin. My dark green metalic/black leather 95 TT (I love saying that) has twisted heads every where, looks like a Diablo and could probably take one with only...well...alot of mods to be sure but still...maybe...anyway, the point is that the 300ZX, designed all the way back in the late 80s, still looks exotic and modern while other cars of similar nature and age look dated and decidedly old school. No body kit needed here. Now think of this. A 300ZX with Lambo door kit. Roll up in your low, wide, curvaeous ride and pop the door straight up.
:) And you thought the Z got them wet before...bring seat covers, leather stains :D

Yea...it's unique and all...but I'm sorry...It just looks like poop...it's waaaaaaaay too over the top for me...but hell...what do I know...
Besides...with performance like this, who cares:
Output: 530 BHP @ 6700 rpm
Torque: 595 Nm @ 3400 - 4900 rpm ( = 438.85 lb/ft)
Performance: 0- 100 km/h in 4.1 seconds (0-100 km/h = 0-62 mph)
Top speed: 325 km/h ( = 201.95 mph)
I can't despute the validity of those numbers, but none of it seems TOO horribly impossible...the top speed is the only one that I think could be a bit of a stretch, but I suppose it's possible.

Yeah they completely butchered that thing. Way too many vents and scoops and altered panels...don't know what the hell is up with that. Really drives home the point that there is no body kit needed here. Lambo doors look good though don't they :)
As for the numbers, those are possible. Top speed beyond anything stock engine wise but I can't imagine stock under that hood.
What the hell did they did do to the lift back? (I refuse to call it a hatchback)

there's even a 1300hp supra. and the supra was highly priced before the f&f came out. its more rare it has 20hp over the z it runs 1320 as low as 13.1 and an amazing highway runner!

the reason is that all the posers saw fast and furious and are now all wanting to get rx7 and supra cuz they wanna be vin diesel and paul walker. and also the supra has a shit load more exterior mods and so man ppl are more concerned about looking fast rather than being fast, however the supra is a great car its just that too many ppl need a supra to look good when they could look just as good in a 3000gt or 300zx

Posers are the major reason the market when up so bad. There are just as many body kits and what not for the Z32 as there are for the MkIV Supra. Some are definately better than others, but there are still tons out there. www.veilside.com has some cool ones. Most of those cars that I've seen havn't just been externally modded because it's so easy to mod the engines in them. I guess people that get them just can't resist.
