IDLE SWITCH

Can anyone tell me where the IDLE ADJUST is ? I keep looking in my Haynes Manual and I am looking for the screw to turn but I can not find it.

Can anybody do " SE-R Motor for Dummies Picture " and pointto the damn thing for me ?

If you know where the throttle body is, you'll find the adjusting screw around it somewhere.

First of all, THANK YOU FOR RELPYING...

no one replied for a week.... I know this is simple question for almost everyone but me ....I found the throttle body but I am not sure which screw it is.

My engine in a 95 se-r engine. I tried to read the haynes manual but the picture shows one thing and the directions saw another.

Please help. Is iton the left side of the throttle body or the right or on top of the manifold thing ?

Look for the cable that accelerates you engine. To know exactly which one I speak of, you can give it a tug and see if the engine revs higher. Now normally, in any engine, towards one end of it, there should be some sort of adusting device, screw, nut, whatever. Turn that until the desired idle is achieved. Now one thing I need to remind you of. Too high a setting, meaning the engine revs higher, and risk problems with your tranny down the line. So don't make too much of an extreme adjustment. Let me know how it turns out.:D

If I remember correctly the idle adjust screw is on the left side (passenger) of the intake manifold, it's facing straight up, and mine is light grey in color. It is a tad smaller than a dime in diameter and is a plastic screw. Here's the link on se-r.net to help with the other stuff

I couldn't find any good pictures online, and am not at my home computer to post a decent picture either. If your still having trouble finding it let me know and I'll post a picture when I get home from work.

Thanks again for the advice. I thought that I had found it on the the right side ( drivers side ). I found the " thing" that you pull to make the engine rev/idle higher. Under it is what I believe is the TPS sensor. I think under there is the screw but I can not reach it without moving the TPS .... I tried to remove it but my screwdriver won't get enought torque.

Anyone else got a picture or can tell me for sure how to do this ..... I DON"T WANT TO TAKE IT TO PEP BOYS !!!!

Here is a decent picture, this is of my old car (94 G20), I took it for the intake, but you can see the idle adjust screw in the picture. It's a little black colored plastic screw, sticking straight up, right below the grey plug (not sure what that is for?). This is where it is on the lowport motors, I'm not sure as far as the highports.

Thanks I will go try this in a minute. I will sneak out of work. I should be able to get this with a screw driver right? My motor maybe a high port it is out of a 95 200sx. Let you know....

I found it thanks to your directions.. fo me the KEY was you descibing the color of the Grey plug and saying that the screw was under it ....

My car was so F*%&$ing dirty I could not see it before...it was all black inside.. I def need to clean the engine to look like that picture of Primera Dudes above...

It's a Hotshot Cold Air Intake.
Oh yeah, you like the non-matching couplers? The place I bought it from lost one :mad: and they replaced it with one that's a different color.
Oh well, made my car faster :D
