You can get really good results with a ls/vtec, but if you go that rout just get a gsr head, they are alot cheaper. a ls/vtec is a bit faster than a stock gsr, but personally I would say go with the gsr.

an ls/vtec will most likely end up costing you more in the long run.. it will produce more power but it is fairly difficult for someone that is new to imports to keep maintained well
gsr's are sturdy cars and have tons of aftermarket parts for them... good amount of hp for em too
i'd go for the gsr for sure

ls/v doesn't last but about six months or so because of oiling problems that can occur

I own an LS and i want a GS-R so bad i can taste exhaust. I think the Frankenstein is too risky for not that much more power over the GS-R.

Get the Geeser, you'll feel better about it. :2cents:

I am sorry but that is wrong. Ls/vtec only have problems when they are done wrong. half the time it is becasue some moron tried to tap the oil without going to a professional. Now they make parts so you don't have to do that. it is like people saying that N20 blows up motors. In actuallity it is the idiot who ran too big a shot for the block to handle. I have seen ls/vtecs run without any problems for over a year and a half. All this skepticism is becuase people go out and don't do it right, and it is true if it is not done by someone who knows what they are dong they will have oil problems, but if done right by a pro, or someone who knows their shit, they will run for along time with no problems. Just the same I would still recomend the GSR, but to say that ls/vtec's only last 6 months is a gross assumption. Like any mod, they have to be done right or there will be problems. They can be very excellent motors, and a cheap way to get your car a bit faster than a gsr if you have a ls.

agreed 100% I can't stand it when ppl say that a certain mod is the cause of problems when in reality it is a person doing it wrong. A properly built LS/VTEC motor will rape a GSR and will last just as long. :2cents:

i agree.. the only problem is finding a compitent mechanic that know's what he's doing.. depending on where you live, that could be very hard to come by.. i'm sure with enough experience, you could do it at home.. i'm sure you'd need a whack of tools, money and time.. but i'm sure it's been done well before:2cents:
